Report: Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer ruled out for Sunday’s game against New York Giants

There’s no other way to put it: Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is the straw that stirs the drink in Bruce Arians’ offense.
The former Heisman Trophy winner was a catalyst for Arizona’s 18-17 come-from-behind win over the San Diego Chargers Monday night, throwing for 304 yards to go along with two fourth-quarter touchdown passes.
But just six days removed from that performance, Palmer has been reportedly ruled out for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants after testing out pre-game at Metlife Stadium.

Since 2009, Palmer has played in 74 of the 75 games he’s been eligible to appear in.
Filling in for Palmer will be back-up quarterback Drew Stanton, who last threw a pass in an NFL game on Dec. 19, 2010 as a member of the Detroit Lions.
For his career, the 30-year-old Stanton is 104-of-197 for 1,158 yards and five touchdowns to go along with nine interceptions.
