The Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback situation has been up in the air all week.

Early in the week, it looked like rookie Logan Thomas would have to start. And then on Friday, backup Drew Stanton passed concussion protocol, meaning there’s a chance he could be ready for Sunday.

But on the morning of the Cardinals’ Week 6 matchup with the Washington Redskins, it looks like the home team will be getting its starter back, according to a report.

NFL.com media insider Ian Rapoport said Sunday morning that Carson Palmer is expected to return under center for the 3-1 Cardinals.

Palmer hasn’t played since the Week 1 win over the San Diego Chargers, in which he completed 24-of-37 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns. He suffered a nerve injury in his right shoulder against San Diego and hasn’t participated in a full practice since.

The veteran QB was limited in practice Wednesday through Friday, and he was listed as questionable heading into the weekend, although he had been ramping up his rehab all week.

The Cardinals-Redskins matchup begins at 1:25 p.m. and can be seen on Fox 10 and listened to on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.
