Not only will the Arizona Cardinals be missing Carson Palmer on Sunday against Seattle, but they will also be without another veteran leader on offense.
NFL Network football insider Ian Rapoport first reported Sunday morning that Larry Fitzgerald is expected to miss the NFC West showdown, and the team confirmed it prior to kickoff.
The star wide receiver hasn’t missed a game since Dec. 2, 2007, and he has played in all but four contests in his 11-year career. To put it more in perspective, he had a streak going of 110 games without an absence — until this week.
Fitzgerald’s 658 yards receiving this year leads the team, and he has 46 catches and two touchdowns.
He suffered the strain in the second quarter of last week’s win over Detroit. The former Pittsburgh Panther said Thursday that his knee was feeling better, but it appears it hasn’t healed to the point where he’s comfortable with playing Sunday.
Also listed as inactive against the Seahawks are running back Kerwynn Williams, linebackers Desmond Bishop and Glenn Carson, defensive tackles Alameda Ta’amu and Ed Stinson and tight end Matthew Mulligan.
Inactive for the Seahawks on Sunday are defensive back Marcus Burley, linebackers Allen Bradford and Kevin Pierre-Lewis, starting center Max Unger, starting left guard James Carpenter, tight end RaShaun Allen and defensive end Demarcus Dobbs.
