Arizona Cardinals can clinch playoff berth this week

While the Arizona Cardinals had to wait until the final week last season to find out their playoff fate, there is a chance they will have a spot locked up by the end of the week.
There are three possible scenarios for the Cardinals to clinch a place in the postseason.
The most likely situation has the Cardinals making the playoffs if they win Thursday against the St. Louis Rams, and the Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles game does not end in a tie.
The team also clinches if they win, the Detroit Lions lose to the Minnesota Vikings, and the Cardinals clinch the strength of victory tiebreaker over Green Bay.
Finally, if Arizona wins, Detroit loses, and Green Bay wins or ties, the Cardinals are guaranteed their first playoff appearance since 2009.
But in order for any of these scenarios to happen, the first step is beating the Rams.
