Well, it had the feel of a division title game…then it started.
The Seattle Seahawks pounded the Arizona Cardinals 35-6, using a suffocating defense and a franchise-record 596 yards of total offense Sunday night at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Seattle used the big play to fuel their win. Russell Wilson hit Luke Willson on an 80-yard touchdown pass, Marshawn Lynch reeled off a 79-yard touchdown run and Wilson himself uncorked a 55-yard scramble.
In all, the Seahawks had nine plays of 20 or more yards on the night.
With the win, Seattle put themselves in position to wrap up the NFC West and the top seed in the conference with a Week 17 win over St. Louis.
Arizona needs a win over San Francisco and a Seattle loss to capture the title, otherwise the depleted Cardinals will be hitting the road as a Wild Card in the opening weekend of the postseason.
