Count former Suns general manager Steve Kerr as one who thinks Steve Nash has not thrown his last pass as a member of the Phoenix Suns.

"I'm going to go 50.5 percent that he stays in Phoenix and 49.5 that he leaves," Kerr told Arizona Sports 620's Burns and Gambo.

Well if that doesn't give you confidence the two-time MVP will return this summer...

Truth is, Kerr said he's really not sure what Nash will do this summer, as the veteran has a chance to leave town and join a contender or, if he wants, stay with the team he's played for the last eight seasons.

Kerr knows there are plenty of reasons for Nash to stay.

"I just think Steve is an incredibly loyal guy," he said. "I know he loves the training staff there, he loves Alvin, he loves his teammates.

"I think it will be difficult for him to leave."

On the flip side, Kerr noted, Nash will have a better chance to win somewhere else.

"You can't blame the guy for looking elsewhere," he said.

Free agents can begin signing with teams on July 11, which means we are still more than two months away from having a resolution to the Nash saga.

Will he stay? Will he go? It really does appear to be up in the air at this point.

    Try this!
Re-sign Nash, add Odom and Gordon or Crawford (preferably Gordon but he is restricted) Don't know if he would come back but if you could bring back Dragic, you could let Nash go. Dragic's family is here maybe. Don't think Brooks will work. Dudley on the bench should help the bench.

with your options the suns are still a 500 or worse team Nash has to go and the team needs to move on without him as long as he stays the team cant rebuild and they stay at 500 so they might as well start rebuilding now then flounder at 500 for 2 or 3 yrs. No big free agents are going to come here just because nash is here that ship sailed.

I like it, but substitute Humphries for Odom. Maybe we could get both if the price is right. Same with Gordon and Crawford. Let Brooks go on his merry way, and possibly even let Lopez walk, although I don't really like the idea of Odom or Frye having to be a back up center. But hey, it could work. Championship contender? Probably not. Fun to watch, sure. Playoff team, most likely.

    Great Track Record
Kerr also thought Amare was going to stay around too. If Babby sticks to his commentts about the Suns not using their cap space, all the projections on earth won't mean anything. We'll overpay to keep Nash and we won't land any players listed here because the Suns won't spend the money needed. Babby said it. He's talking out both sides of his mouth. How can AZ be a destination for free agents if the won't spend the cap space? Face it, we're the new old Clippers

Ok I will play your game. Move on from Nash. To what? You talk about "rebuild" no blue print for that. Babby said it takes 8 to 10 years. I think he is right. Guess how many lottery pics over the last 7 years have even played in a playoff game about 25 out of 105. Irving played ok, team sucks, same with John Wall. Anthony Davis is the best this year. Unless he scores he is Marcus Camby. Even Griffin who is probably the best pic in 4 years is probably not in playoffs without Chris Paul. Rebuilding doesn't work! I would love to hear who has made it work?

Rebuilding success, OKC, Portland, Clips, back east is a mess. It is a balance to have vets and draftees. But our mess is that nobody in this ownership has shown they know how to put anything together. Our last run was primarily with the last of Colangelo's players. Look at the draft picks we've given away to other teams, all because of money. We could have had Deng, Fernandez, Rondo, Nate Robinson. Who do we keep, Earl Clark and Robin Lopez

We should have rebuilt thru pics or players by trading Amare instead of letting him go for nothing. Why" because that idiot Kerr thought he was going to stay. Everyone but him knew we couldn't come close to matching what NY was gunna throw at him. We were 60 million short of their offer. We missed our window to stay competitive. We're prolonging the inevitable by keeping Nash and setling for just making the playoffs like some bottom feeder

Portland-Rebuilding success? Now that is funny! They finished worse than the Suns. If they would have taken Durrant instead of Oden they would be in OKCs spot. Clips are only in because Paul wanted out of New Orleans so bad. None of those players you listed could have played much for the Suns. Even Rondo would not have beat out Nash and he wouldn't have developed on the bench. I will if you polled all of the GMs in the NBA, 90% would not have shelled out 100 million for Amare. All the doctors warned Sarver. He is damaged goods and it is just a matter of time

    Yeah Portland
Portland has a much better base of young player to build around than we do. Aldridge, Batum, Crawford, Felton, Hickson are just 5. Show me 5 Suns to rebuild around? All 5 of those guys would start on the Suns, Oden was a shame. But ALL of those guys would have played for the Suns. Are they superstars? no but they'd be a solid team moving forward and when free agents would look at the Suns, they souldn't see a bunch of scrubs and old men
