The free agency of Steve Nash has been -- and will be -- talked about quite extensively for the next two months.

The Phoenix Suns have said all along they would like the former MVP to stay in purple and orange.

Nash himself wants to keep his options open.

Alex Kennedy, an NBA reporter for HoopsWorld.com sent out a tweet that the Suns are "likely" to make Nash an offer for two years worth $20 million.

Are those the actual numbers that will be on the table? Would that be enough for Nash?

On the last day of the season he did say, "I just want our team to be as competitive as possible if I were to return."

The money and years that come with the report are interesting, but it seems it will come down to what other decisions the Suns make that will ultimately play a role in whether Nash remains a Sun in the future.

    Bye Bye Nash
If there is any truth to this report, this means Nash is a goner. Nash went out of his way at the end of the season to say that he wanted a 3-year deal. So what do the Suns reportedly plan to do...offer him a 2-year deal. This makes sense given Babby's recent comments where he alluded to the Suns wanting Nash back, but only if it works for both sides. Or in other words, the Suns want him back, but only if he's willing accept a contract on the Suns' terms. Basically, they're just trying to win the PR battle.

Don't read into this too much
Does anyone know who Alex Kennedy is? Regardless, this is a report on the "likelihood" of a possible Suns offer AKA it means nothing. Furthermore, it's a wise decision by the front office to not over pay on too many years (i.e. Amare). They need to make their offer and see if Steve wants it. If he doesn't, he moves on to a contender and we rebuild. Life will go on.

Cant Even Make the Wrong Plans Correctly
If they really want to keep Nash, like they have been saying all along, you would think they would offer a bundle to keep him. Lord knows they have thrown plenty of money at midlevel talent over the past few years. But, they try to skimp on him? Really?? What a bunch of basketball business clowns! Please sell the team to some software nerd billionaire so that we can get back to being a contender, Sarver.
