Burns & Gambo did not go easy on the owner of the Phoenix Suns. Sarver was asked (and he answered) all the burning questions surrounding the controversial hiring & firing at the head coach position.
The Phoenix Suns are 13-28 at the midway point in the season. They're residing in the Western Conference's basement, and are much closer to being the worst team in basketball than a playoff team.

Their attendance is down for the third consecutive year, and with what's happened around the team lately, there would seem to be a bit of a negative attitude towards the Valley's original professional sports team.

Not so, says Suns owner Robert Sarver.

"I would disagree with that," Sarver told Arizona Sports 620's Burns and Gambo when asked about an upset fan base. "I would say that we monitor all of the information that comes in from our ticket holders and our fans, and I would disagree with that."

Sarver said the idea that Suns fans are upset is "a good story" for the media, and is just one of many non-factual stories that have surfaced with regards to the team.

But, he added, he understands tough decisions during tough times will rub fans the wrong way.

"This is a tough time for a franchise," he said. "When we're not winning and we're not playing well fans are upset, and that all comes with it.

"What I would say to the fans is we're working every day to try to get our team back to elite status."

    Fans are mad. Someone is lying to him. I do believe he wants to win... I hope Babby, Blanks and Hunter are plan to tank. Clearly Gentry did not deserve to be fired to attempt to squeeze a drop of value out Beasley. Sarver, think of beasley like a bad investment. Stop throwing resources at it. If you are intent on getting some value out of him make him wash your car or something.

    The fact that he said that is flat out disturbing. Goes to show exactly how out of touch he is with his fan base. He has successfully driven a once proud franchise into the ground. Sad to say but it is embarrassing to be a Suns fan....

    He is an incredibly intelligent, accomplished and philanthropic individual. To read his biography one is left impressed with his life and what he has made of himself. One thing though that he seems to be missing is a true understanding of this business that he has purchased. It would also seem that perhaps he has been far too trusting of those who he has put in charge to run it. When one accepts things as fact, that are so patently false, it puts one in a position of having their intelligence questioned. I would not question his intelligence but would question his gullibility.

    ... is READ THE COMMENTS ON ALL THE SUNS ARTICLES! Heck yes we are pissed. This team used to be something. Now, it's just a joke. What kind of parallel, bizarro universe are we in where the Clippers are tops, and the Suns aren't even close. Pathetic.

    Sarver’s master plan is nearly complete... Disband Colangelo System and business model of great ambassadorship ... check Split up and trade all A-lst players, e.g. J. Johnson, Amare, Marion, Nash, Grant, etc... check Draft the worse players possible... check Lose all coaching staff that actually cares about winning... check Move team to San Diego..

It's disgusting the way you have run this franchise into the ground. You're a joke. You bought Jerry out, sent Bryan Colangelo to Toronto, shoved Steve Kerr out the door, mocked Nash by making him a ludicrous offer, hired Babby and Blanks, Turkoglu, Childress. You're GM is a cronie, bypassing better candidates with better resumes to hire his buddy. If you don't think the fans are pissed at you, you're simply ignoring the truth.
