listen Listen: Robert Sarver, owner of the Phoenix Suns
Burns & Gambo did not go easy on the owner of the Phoenix Suns. Sarver was asked (and he answered) all the burning questions surrounding the controversial hiring & firing at the head coach position.

The Phoenix Suns are 13-28 at the midway point in the season. They're residing in the Western Conference's basement, and are much closer to being the worst team in basketball than a playoff team.

Their attendance is down for the third consecutive year, and with what's happened around the team lately, there would seem to be a bit of a negative attitude towards the Valley's original professional sports team.

Not so, says Suns owner Robert Sarver.

"I would disagree with that," Sarver told Arizona Sports 620's Burns and Gambo when asked about an upset fan base. "I would say that we monitor all of the information that comes in from our ticket holders and our fans, and I would disagree with that."

Sarver said the idea that Suns fans are upset is "a good story" for the media, and is just one of many non-factual stories that have surfaced with regards to the team.

But, he added, he understands tough decisions during tough times will rub fans the wrong way.

"This is a tough time for a franchise," he said. "When we're not winning and we're not playing well fans are upset, and that all comes with it.

"What I would say to the fans is we're working every day to try to get our team back to elite status."

I'm not upset, I've lost interest
I'm not upset or angry. I've just lost interest in the Suns. Count me among the fairweather fans I guess. I'll likely pay more attention to the Suns once they start having more success on the court. Right now though I think it would be a waste to spend any of my leisure time or dollars on the Suns. My guess is Sarver and his management team are making a play for a good lottery pick and I see no point in watching the resulting sub-par product until said product is sufficiently entertaining.

    Money Money
Everyone remember that Sarver makes millions every year just from TV contracts. It does not matter if they win, lose or even play the season. You can bet your last dollar that they are no where close to the salary cap. The man is not stupid he is a multi-millionaire.

I am in a constant state of LOATHING these decisions. I feel like I am in the middle of High School again,Sarver you said we were elite for three years, yes we were, but that was hanging off the coat tails of a legend (Colagenlo) So I have not seen anything that makes me excited about this ball club,OR MANAGEMENT. I am not even happy about the draft because I dont have confidence in the staff to draft someone who can lead a team.. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER SUNS TICKET UNTIL I SEE SOME CHANGES. NEITHER WILL MY FAMILY. ILL WATCH FROM HOME. (HONESTY IS ALWAYS THE BEST POLICY.) ALWAYS

    Ill-advised Approach
I always recommend to clients, when faced with an unhappy customer to start out with "I am sorry." Whether it is heartfelt or not, it shows humility, empathy and can mean anything from an apology for a particular mess or an apology that the customer is feeling that way, whether you think you are the cause or not. It is not useful or smart to tell the customer you know he/she is not really upset and that they are just being tricked into complaining by the media. It insults their intelligence and/or implies that you are not aware of what's going on in the real world.

    Kudos to Burns and Gambo
For not taking it easy on Sarver or Hunter in the interviews today. Sarver is clearly in denial and Hunter is not ready in any shape or form to be a head coach in this league. I feel for the players who deserve better, and the fans who deserve better. Would love to hear a "Sarver Sucks" chant at the home games going forward.
