Suns forward Michael Beasley was arrested and released at the scene by Scottsdale Police on January 25, 2013. The team has issued a statement:

"We are aware that Scottsdale Police stopped and cited Michael Beasley for motor vehicle infractions at approximately 1:10 a.m. on January 25, 2013. After being briefly detained on-site, he was released. According to the police report, Michael was ‘cooperative' and ‘no impairment was found' following field sobriety tests. We have discussed the matter with Michael and at this time do not believe any further action by the Club is warranted."

    with slow speech and slow responses and no mention made of a field sobriety test or a blood alcohol. Driving recklessly and clearly receiving preferential treatment first from the police and now from the Suns. Classy organization this has become. Coach Cunter will probably give him even more minutes now.

    Preconceived notions are hard to beat down. 90% of people will assume they know everything about this story before reading anything past the headline. On another note, it would have been rare for Beasley to have been arrested for such a minor offense. The only reason his car was impounded, I'm sure, was because of his suspended license. Excessive speeding is a class 3 misdemeanor, the lowest criminal offense one can possibly commit. Cops don't process people for that sort of a crime.

    how much of a joke the Suns organization has become. Just let this one go as you have done with the past 2 incidents that Beasley has had while with the Suns. How long has he been here? The Heat let him go, as did the Wolves. For everyone else it is 3 strikes and you are out, but with this new Suns team it is 3rd times a charm. JOKE!

    To the good old days when Arizona had no problems off the court/field with our athletes? Arizona sports was a golden standard when guys like Kevin Johnson, Larry and Kurt, and Grant Hill were winning awards for being good people. We never had problems like this, now Mark Grace, and Michael Over-easy are changing the way people look at our sports teams...

    Were the days of ignorance, and ignorance is bliss. We didn't know 10% as much about sports icons a decade ago as we do today. I think if Twitter were around in any era of sports, it would look remarkably like today. Doesn't make it right, but I think we get disillusioned about the honor and dignity of our sports idols from yesteryear.

    More Nanny state over obsession. Let the first innocent person throw the first stone. No accident, speeding and a suspended license. Last time I saw that, was the illegal who totaled my car, and never had to face any consequences for his actions. How should it be any different for a Suns player who did not hurt anyone, or damage any property.
