The wheeling and dealing continued for the Phoenix Suns Thursday, as they traded point guard Sebastian Telfair to the Toronto Raptors for center Hamed Haddadi and a 2nd round pick.

Telfair signed with the Suns prior to the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season. In two seasons in Phoenix, the former high school phenom played in 106 games, averaging 6.1 points and 2.4 assists per game.

Haddadi, 27, is averaging 1.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in just under seven minutes per game for the Raptors.

Telfair's playing time had dwindled lately as the Suns have gone with more of a youth movement which pushed rookie Kendall Marshall higher on the depth chart. Telfair hasn't gotten off interim head coach Lindsey Hunter's bench in eight of the last 11 contests.

He's also spent time with Portland, Boston, Minnesota, the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland in his eight-year career.

    Like Telfair, but he is not a part of our future. Hope this gets Diante some minutes. Also interesting that we brought in a center. Assuming we dont outright cut him, will be interesting to see if this is a precursor for an Oneal trade. Pretty boring deadline - worst I can remember so far

    with a commitment to developing Marshall, Telfair had to go. He proved to be a decent backup. 2 thoughts on this deal- I like the 2nd round pick, because we can package it in another deal, and perhaps they acquired Hammad to add depth should they unload Gortat.

    I live in Raleigh and saw Kendall Marshall play at UNC.......that guy can play and is much in the mold of Jason Kidd. Remember, Kidd couldn't shoot either but he ran the offense brilliantly throughout his career.......with time and opportunity we will be very glad he's on our roster.

    This guy is going to be an ok backup in the league, nothing more. Dragic is the future. Priority for suns should be: 1) new FO leadership, 2) get new scouts and draft good. 3) new coach.

    I trust the Suns' leadership has a plan and is following it. But I will miss this guy. Sebastian Telfair played hard, didn't complain and showed a lot of class. Hope Toronto makes good use of him.

    ...to constantly disappoint as a perpetual backup PG. Don't even jokingly compare him to J-Kidd, as Kidd both figured out how to shoot AND reconfigured his game as a longtime veteran to win a ring as a spot 3-point shooter in Dallas. I don't see that in an NBDL turnover machine like Marshall (yet management was all too eager to bump him up to the pro level). But even if he puts things together, I doubt he'll ever have the game Goran does. His D won't match up to the Dragon's and he didn't have the privilege of tutoring under the best passing PG ever.
