D-backs' Gibson presented with NL Manager of the Year award
He said he wasn't concerned with awards all season -- and got downright ornery when asked about them --, but Arizona Diamondbacks Manager Kirk Gibson was in the spotlight Saturday when he was given his National League Manager of the Year Award by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
The award being given was announced though a tweet from MLB's public relations account, along with a blurry image of someone who either looks a lot like Gibby or Gibby himself standing at a podium.
The D-backs skipper looked dapper in his tuxedo and bow tie, but the gala doesn't strike us as being apart of Gibson's style.
Gibby led the D-backs to a 94-68 record last season and their first postseason appearance since the 2007 season. They may have lost to the Brewers, but a deep farm system and a top-rotation should keep the D-backs in the running again this season.
