Some people questioned Kevin Towers' decision to sign
outfielder Jason Kubel in the offseason.
Nowadays, though, those people are few and far between.
Kubel was named co-NL Player of the Week Monday for his performance in the period ending June 10.
In five games -- four of which were wins -- Kubel hit .409 with two home runs and 12 RBI.
Kubel is sharing the award, the second of his career, with Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster.
