Some people questioned Kevin Towers' decision to sign outfielder Jason Kubel in the offseason.

Nowadays, though, those people are few and far between.

Kubel was named co-NL Player of the Week Monday for his performance in the period ending June 10.

In five games -- four of which were wins -- Kubel hit .409 with two home runs and 12 RBI.

Kubel is sharing the award, the second of his career, with Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster.

A Great Pick-up by Towers BUT
Let's not let Parra rust on the bench; he needs to be starting a minimum of 4 times a week ( only against right handers & stay away from inserting him against slow junk pitchers ) ; other than that sit Upton & Young until they show they are worth being out their every day; no doubt Kubel has made his impact felt Big Time ( both against Right & Left Handers )
