It was just last Friday that Daniel Hudson pitched only 1.2 innings, giving up eight hits and six earned runs against the Oakland A's. Things could have just as easily continued their downhill momentum Thursday night for Hudson.

Aside from a strong first inning by the Texas Rangers, in which Elvis Andrus doubled and then scored on a single from Adrian Beltre, Hudson looked confident and poised on the mound, rebounding well from arguably the worst start of his career.

Hudson retired 16 of the next 17 batters and finished the night with 109 pitches before leaving the game with a comfortable lead. The Diamondbacks won the game 11-3.

Hudson pitched seven innings, struck out a season-high seven batters and walked nobody. But most importantly, he seemingly has totally shaken off his shoddy start from last Friday.
