Upton leaves game with apparent leg injury; should be fine

The Diamondbacks right fielder, who has struggled for the majority of this season, hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning and singled in the sixth.
Was it the beginning of a turnaround for the 24-year-old who entered the season as a popular NL MVP pick?
Maybe, but there was some concern after Upton appeared to suffer a leg injury while heading to third on a Paul Goldschmidt double. He stayed in the game and scored one batter later on Ryan Roberts' inside-the-park home run, but that was it for his day.
The good news is, according to manager Kirk Gibson, his right fielder was suffering from nothing more than cramps.
"He's fine," Gibson said after the game. "We had some runs on the board and we felt like we had an off day tomorrow.
"He said it was a cramp and we wanted to make sure it didn't turn into anything else."
It made sense, as the D-backs had a 14-6 lead at the time (they ended up winning 14-10), so playing it safe and pulling their star was the right move.
