Diamondbacks play-by-play man Daron Sutton was not in the booth Friday night for the team's series opener against the Cubs, and there are reports on AZCentral.com saying that he's been suspended by the team.

"We've made an adjustment to the broadcast talent lineup and Daron is going to be taking some time off," said Josh Rawitch, SR Vice President of Communications for the team.

Sutton has been the team's television voice since the 2007 season, and he will be replaced in the booth by longtime radio voice Greg Schulte, while Jeff Munn will fill in on the radio side.

On Saturday, Rawitch said Sutton will not accompany the team on its upcoming road trip and there's no timetable for his return.

    OK ---- Why ???
Obviously Sutton did something; not a great loss as Jeff Munn is actually better as a radio play by play than Schulte; at times Greg forgets he is calling a game on radio; he will fair much better on TV & places more premium on Mark Grace to really shine; still amazing no word as to Why ??? Obviously curious but again no Big Loss

I'm shocked. I think he and Grace are a great team and will miss him regardless of who his replacement is.

    Crazy
I love Sutt and Gracie and they make the game a ton more fun, especially in a blow out or boring game. I remember the other night, he said something and I kind of winched. I don't know what he said but I was kind of surprised. I wonder if this has something to do with it. It would be nice to really know. Oh ya, KTAR has high school kids writing for them.

CAN WE VERIFY WHAT'S GOING ON?!?
This Seems To Be A Little More Serious Then It Seems And The Fans Should Be Aware Of What's Going On!?!

    What happened to Mike Fetters?
Wasn't he on a few Diamondback radio broadcasts recently? I liked him and he's local - think maybe he lives somewhere in Chandler. We could always resurrect Old Man Garagiola for a little color commentary. Hope they decide to re-consider on Sutton - he and Mark made a good team. As in everything else, it depends a lot on politics - remember when Gracey used the F word - that was ignored.

    What'd He Say?
Steve S, exactly what was it Sutton said on air that made you wince? Did he dis an advertiser or a player? The guy seems so wholesome, it's hard to imagine him in this kind of "trouble."

dont mean to be negative guy but reports are? is it even official hes suspended? Taking some time off and suspended are two different things. Whoever knows hes suspended knows why so just say it. He adds an excitement to games that is sorely missed without him.

I really enjoy Sutton,He is also great with interacting with the kids and fans outside of the booth as well. Hope this is not permanent.

    Bad Article
This is hack stuff. No research at all. The paper today stated quotes from the team and Sutton that he was NOT suspended, he was taking a few days off for personal reasons. Nothing to do with police, or lawyers. He needs a few days off, to speculate without facts is irresponsible reporting
