Sources: Pirates emerging as serious contender for Upton

Arizona Diamondbacks' right fielder Justin Upton is quite the hot commodity these days. As the trade deadline draws closer, teams' interest in acquiring the 24-year-old's services is heating up.
ESPN's Jayson Stark tweeted Sunday, the Pittsburgh Pirates could be emerging as a frontrunner in the Upton sweepstakes.

The Pirates have long been linked as a possible suitor for Upton and have the pieces that could entice General Manager Kevin Towers to make a deal, if that's the road he chooses to take.
