A closer look: D-backs cough up big lead in loss

The Good:
The Diamondbacks jumped out on top of the Reds early behind home runs from Aaron Hill and Henry Blanco. In total, Arizona collected 14 hits on the day.
The Bad:
Where do we start?
Giving up a six-run lead is never a good thing and responsibility for such an occurrence falls on many different people.
Reliever Bryan Shaw will shoulder much of the blame -- and rightfully so -- as he allowed four runs (two earned) in just one-third of an inning. An error by first baseman Paul Goldschmidt did not help things, either.
He Said It:
"It's definitely up there as one of the worst," team president Derrick Hall told Arizona Sports 620's Doug and Wolf about the loss.
Noted:
The Diamondbacks leave Cincinnati with a four-game split, and finish their road trip with a 2-5 mark.
Coming Up Next:
The Diamondbacks return home to begin a series with the Houston Astros Friday. Trevor Cahill (7-8, 3.71 ERA) will be opposed by Bud Norris (5-7, 4.70 ERA).
