The broadcast team of the Arizona Diamondbacks continues to change, with the organization announcing Friday that television commentator Mark Grace is taking an indefinite leave of absence to seek "personal assistance."

Grace was arrested in Scottsdale Thursday evening after being pulled over for having an expired registration plate. Police then administered a field sobriety test which gave probable cause to arrest Grace on DUI charges.

Grace was also driving without an interlock device, which was required following a prior DUI arrest in Scottsdale in May of 2011.

Former D-back Luis Gonzalez will jump into the analyst's chair for games against the San Diego Padres Friday and Saturday, and legendary broadcaster Joe Garagiola will provide analysis for Sunday's series finale.

Television play-by-play man Daron Sutton hasn't been on a Diamondbacks broadcast since June and details of his absence have been few and far between. Longtime radio play-by-play man Greg Schulte has been handling the TV duties, while Jeff Munn has been calling the action on radio.

Grace ended his 16-year playing career with the Diamondbacks in 2003. The three-time All-Star was a part of the Diamondbacks only World Series championship team in 2001. The first baseman hit .263 in that World Series, with a home run and three runs batted in.

    Sutton and Grace were BY FAR THE BEST in the business! My boys are huge baseball fans and theres always a game of some sort on in our house and I am bored to naps when trying to listen to anyone else. I've tweeted all season about how much I appreciate their entertainment while analyzing and commentating the games. I have a lot of respect for the integrity of the franchise and of course won't stop watching but now it's going to be much less enjoyable. I wish the personal lives and opinions of these guys did not have to interfere with my enjoyment as a fan. They are going to be missed :(

    What in the heck is going on with our announcers??? First Sutton and now Gracie, with NO explanation... Gonzo is a. Ice person, but NO emotion, very DULL. Would like Gracie and Sutton back where they belong. Hope they BOTH get their act together and get back to doing what they do best

    In life you make 90% of your luck and 10% is shear luck. I don't understand why Mark did not at the very least have his registration current and have the interlock device. We love Gracie no matter what, but repeat offense? Really???? I thought he was smarter than that.

    I'm not surprised. I heard years ago that he was a beer drinking, smoking kinda guy and liked to party. Sounds like he needs some help and is out of control. Hope he gets the help he needs!
