The Arizona Diamondbacks will welcome a familiar face back to the lineup when they face the San Diego Padres Tuesday.

Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson told Arizona Sports 620's Burns and Gambo Chris Young will make his return and get the start.

"He's probably going to go out and run, but I'd like to have him in the game," Gibson said.

But Gibson wanting to have Young back and actually having Young back are two separate things. However, when asked if the lineup he had in front of him featured Young in it, the skipper had a pretty direct answer.

"It does."

Young, who is hitting .227 with 14 home runs and 39 RBI on the season, has not played since September 15 due to a right-quadriceps injury.

Young's return will push newcomer Adam Eaton to left field, and for at least Tuesday Jason Kubel will find a spot on the bench.

    Right now, I'm glad
I'm not sure if Chris has given up on wanting to be a D-back and maybe wants to move on, I hope not and I prefer his power right now, to the first year banjo hitting of Eaton. Eaton is hungrier, but he should be. he's a rookie. but, the infield hits will dry up. He will be tough though, I meant that as no criticism.

    Young needs to Go
CY is a fine young man but Come On, he NEVER will hit for average given his years already in the majors. Eaton should play out the remainder of the season to determine the proper move to replace CY after we trade him though his value is extremely low ( would much rather have Parra or Eaton in CF ); CY has been given enough time with little results ; keep Upton for sure BUT CY must go along with a few more non-performing players
