Ever since being drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks third-overall in 2011, Trevor Bauer has been the subject of much hype and scrutiny.

A right-hander with an unorthodox warmup routine, he made his highly-anticipated Major League debut in June of 2012, but was sent back to the minors after just four starts.

The 21-year-old posted a 1-2 record with a 6.06 ERA in four starts, and while he struck out 17 hitters in 16.1 innings of work, he walked 13 and hit one. Both his stuff and attitude were called into question, and though he was named the organization's "Pitcher of the Year" after a successful minor league season, some question if he really has a future in Arizona.

"I will say this: he is the employee, and in an employer/employee situation it's incumbent on the employee to make adjustments to satisfy the needs of his employer," Diamondbacks managing general partner Ken Kendrick told Arizona Sports 620's Burns and Gambo. "And I hope and trust that that will occur."

Will Justin Upton stay? Will Chris Young go? Plus, how he really feels about Trevor Bauer.
Kendrick said there is no doubting Bauer's ability, but he did seem to question whether or not the pitcher has the proper mental makeup to succeed at the big league level. The former UCLA star has gained a reputation for being somewhat difficult after there were some communication issues with catcher Miguel Montero, and if that does not get corrected, the pitcher's potential may end up being fulfilled elsewhere.

"I think we all need to grow up and mature and learn from our elders, and hopefully Trevor will recognize the need to do that to become an outstanding Major League player," Kendrick said. "The talent is there, I think there's no doubt of that."

    Kendrick --- Stay Quiet
Kendrick is a joke & just needs to Shut Up; leave the baseball operation up to Towers / Gibson / and others that know baseball His opinions are meaningless ; sit back & collect your cash & let the pros discuss players to media as they see fit Everytime he opens his mouth, he puts his foot in it

    Constructive Criticism
I think everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. However, in my opinion, I believe that any owner has the right to choose whom he employs. Even if someone is talented as Trevor Bauer "appears to be", he may be a disruption in the dugout or the bullpen. Baseball is a team sport. There is no room in the clubhouse for "Prima donnas". Someday Trevor will grow up, but sadly, he will be a good to great pitcher with someone who is willing to put up with his antics.... Like the New York Yankees.
