Cody Ross is back on the disabled list.

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed the outfielder on the 15-day DL Tuesday with a left calf strain. He suffered the injury in Saturday's win over the Chicago Cubs.

In a corresponding move, the team recalled outfielder Alfredo Marte from Triple-A Reno.

The 33-year-old Ross is hitting .238 with two home runs, five doubles and 11 RBI in 66 games this season.

Marte, 24, has batted .227 with three doubles and three RBI in 11 games with the D-backs this season.
