The Arizona Diamondbacks added a pitcher with the first selection of the second round Monday.

Left-hander Alex Young out of Texas Christian University went No. 43 overall to the Diamondbacks in the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

The 6-foot-2 pitcher was originally drafted in the 32nd round in 2012. Last year with TCU he started 14 games and went 9-2 with a 2.39 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 83 innings. Young, 21, spent a majority of his first two seasons at the school in the bullpen.

Rated by Baseball American as the 11th-best college pitcher, Young’s fastball has been clocked as high as 92 mph.

Young was the second addition to the D-backs organization on the evening. The team chose shortstop Dansby Swanson out of Vanderbilt with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
