...

The Arizona Diamondbacks have been nothing if not streaky this season, often following extended losing streaks with extended winning streaks. Riding a three-game winning streak entering Tuesday’s contest in Seattle, the D-backs managed to keep the positive momentum rolling, defeating the Mariners 8-4 to earn their fourth straight win.

Thanks to RBI from left fielder David Peralta in the first and third innings, the D-backs built an early 2-0 lead to get things started in game two of the three-game series versus Seattle.

Mariners catcher Mike Zunino would cut the D-backs lead to one with a solo home run in the home half of the third, but Arizona was quick to respond in the fifth and sixth innings, as right fielder Ender Inciarte added a solo shot of his own in the fifth frame before second baseman Chris Owings and shortstop would chip in a two-run single and an RBI ground rule double to extend the D-backs’ lead to 6-1.

Seattle would hang around adding two runs in the sixth and one in ninth, but it wouldn’t be nearly enough, as the D-backs would go on to score two more runs en route to their 48th victory of the season.

In his second major league start, D-backs starting pitcher Zack Godley was steady once again, lasting six innings, surrendering seven hits and three earned runs to earn his second straight win.

Below, we take a took at the D-backs’ win, by the numbers.

Inciarte, Peralta, Owings and Nick Ahmed chipped in two RBI a piece to combine for the eight total runs scored by the D-backs.

.351

Following his 3-for-4 outing which included a double, a stolen base and two RBI, Peralta is batting .351 (13-of-37) with three triples, one home run and seven RBI over his last 11 games. On a night where the D-backs’ bats were hot, Peralta’s was arguably the hottest.

1.35

The combined ERA of the D-backs starting pitchers over the last six games. Tuesday’s start from Godley was his second over a six-game span that has seen tremendous outings from Patrick Corbin, Rubby De La Rosa, Jeremy Hellickson and Robbie Ray. The five hurlers are 5-1 since Godley sparked the staff in his MLB debut on July 23.

5 (Part I)

Godley is also the fifth pitcher in D-backs history to win his first two MLB starts. Chase Anderson owns the longest streak in franchise history at five.

5 (Part II)

Inciarte recorded his fifth multi-hit game over his last eight games. After going 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI, Inciarte is batting a sizzling .361 (13-for-36) over that stretch.

10

Goldschmidt’s 2-for-5 effort versus Seattle Tuesday increases his current hitting streak to 10 games. In 28 games versus AL West opponents, Goldschmidt is hitting .343 (34-for-99) with nine doubles, six home runs, 17 RBI and 16 walks.
