The Phoenix Coyotes have signed former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Steve Sullivan to a one-year contract, the club said in a statement.

Sullivan, a 15-year NHL veteran, was the sixth-highest scorer last year for the Penguins, notching 17 goals and 38 assists.

"We are very pleased to welcome Steve to the Coyotes," said Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney in the statement. "Steve is an intelligent player who adds skill to our lineup and will help improve our power play. He is a great addition to our roster."

Sullivan, 37, has topped the 20-goal mark eight times in his career. Assuming he stays healthy, he will mark his 1,000th career NHL game with the Coyotes.

The one-year contract is reportedly worth $1.85 million, but the Coyotes did not release the figure, per club policy.
