"Star Wars" will soon become a summer box office mainstay.
According to IGN, Disney will release a new film in the science fiction series every summer beginning in 2015.
J.J. Abrams' Episode VII will come first in the summer of 2015 and will be followed every summer after with another new Star Wars movie, alternating between the standalone films we've heard about and the new trilogy that begins with Episode VII.
If Disney does keep that pace, the number of "Star Wars" films will double by 2019.
A third trilogy has already been announced. Other films could focus on the backgrounds of certain characters.
