Every day, ArizonaSports.com asks readers a question. It’s the Sanderson Ford Poll Question of the Day, and it can be found midway down the right side of our home page.
Earlier this week, we asked readers if the Arizona Coyotes ought to consider benching goaltender Mike Smith in favor of backup Devan Dubnyk.
Smith, who fell to 2-5 on the season following Thursday’s 2-1 loss to the Florida Panthers, has allowed 27 goals in seven starts this season, with his most recent contest marking just the third time all season that the 32-year-old had allowed two goals or less.
Thus, the response was loud: Dubnyk deserves a shot between the pipes.
In fact, 75 percent of the 344 fans who voted believed it was time for Smith to head to the bench while only 25 percent stood behind him.
