Sam Gagner’s first goal in six games for the Coyotes came early in the first period against the Blues, in the middle of a shooting drought Arizona couldn’t seem to shake all game.

The lack of shots-on-goal ultimately caused their demise, as they fell 2-1 to St. Louis on the road Tuesday night.

The Blues’ Alexander Steen tied things up at 15:10 in the first, and Dmitrij Jaskin had the go-ahead shot halfway through the second period.

Of course, it couldn’t be a scoring drought without a struggle by Arizona to even get shots on Blues goaltender Jake Allen.

The ‘Yotes were out-shot 30-13 through the first two periods.

Arizona then pulled goaltender Mike Smith with 2:03 left in the third period and out-shot the Blues for the first time all game, but to no avail.

What did the loss look like, by the numbers?
