Report: Osweiler declaring for NFL Draft on Friday

He became the first ASU quarterback to throw for more than 4,000 yards in a season, while passing for 26 touchdowns for the 6-7 Devils.
Following a 56-24 loss to Boise State in the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas last month, an emotional Osweiler spoke to the media about his offensive coordinator, Noel Mazzone, taking a job on Jim L. Mora's staff at UCLA. Mazzone was not retained by newly-hired ASU coach Todd Graham.
That led to a thread of rumors that Osweiler would bolt ASU to reunite with Mazzone in Westwood for his senior season. The reality that Osweiler would still have to sit out a year after an in-conference transfer poured a bucket of cold water on those rumors.
But the latest strong rumors have Osweiler foregoing his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.
DevilsDigest.com is reporting that Osweiler's time at Arizona State is over.

Osweiler could be taking a huge risk by leaving Tempe. He's got a relatively small sample of work on his résumé (only 15 starts) and his junior year didn't exactly finish on a high note.
And not to diminish his 2011 accomplishments, let's remember that if not for a career-ending concussion suffered by Steven Threet in November of 2010, Osweiler would likely have been holding a clipboard this past season again.
Should Osweiler opt for the draft, that would leave Graham with three quarterbacks on his roster. Sophomore Mike Bercovici was Osweiler's understudy in 2011, and threw three passes. Taylor Kelly will be a redshirt sophomore next season, and he's got 4 attempts to his credit.
And there's redshirt freshman-to-be Michael Eubank, a highly recruited dual-threat QB from Centennial High in Corona, California. Eubank chose ASU in December of 2010, and stuck to his commitment despite a late recruiting push from Pittsburgh while Graham was the head coach of the Panthers.
