Former Arizona State University linebacker Vontaze Burfict has signed a free agent contract with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Previously thought of as a first round draft choice, Burfict went undrafted after reportedly failing a drug test, along with other behavioral issues off the field.

Burfict also registered a 4.9 in the 40, the slowest of all linebackers at the combine.

The Bengals did not draft a linebacker this year, and could use depth at the position behind Rey Maualuga.

Burfict spent the last few weeks before the draft trying to revamp his reputation, but did not hear his name called over the weekend at the draft.

    Behavioral Issues off the field?
I'm not sure I agree with that statement. His biggest problems seem to lie in his own head. He was slow and out of shape, didn't have a clue as to how to answer his interview questions. He was basically completely unprepared. And then the failed drug test. But I haven't heard of any off the field behavioral issues (besides the drug use). He wasn't going out popping off or getting in trouble. He was lazy. The media has made him out to be a trouble maker, bad kid and he really isn't. He just needs a lot of direction. Hopefully he will get it as he moves to the NFL.
