Arizona State wide receiver Jamal Miles has been suspended for the team's opener Thursday night in Tempe against Northern Arizona University.
Miles reportedly was deemed ineligible after violating team rules. This will be the second game in a row missed due to a suspension for the senior wideout. He sat out of the Maaco Bowl last December.
An ASU spokesperson confirmed Miles did not dress Thursday after "not meeting the team standard." He is expected to play next week.
Last year, Miles had 60 catches for 361 yards and two touchdowns.
With Miles out of action, the Devils could opt to start true freshman Richard Smith.
