Sure, there are still 234 days until the Arizona State Sun Devils kickoff their 2013 football season against the Sacramento State Hornets in Tempe, but that hasn't stopped some from making very early predictions.

We're talking about Ted Miller, who does a fantastic job covering the Pac-12 for ESPN.com. Miller unveiled a piece earlier this week full of 2013 projections that paints a possibly rosy picture for head coach Todd Graham's team.

Oregon will play Arizona State in Pac-12 title game: The Sun Devils will emerge from a pack that includes the Trojans and UCLA to win the South.

Wonder if Miller will have to amend that prediction with the news that Chip Kelly is bolting Oregon to become the next head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles?

    With UCLA and UA on the rise, winning the South won't be that easy. Then again, depending on UA's QB situation next season, they may not be a factor. Hopefully the same can be said for USC.

    ... will be the Devils biggest competition next year in the South. UA doesn't have an experienced QB and their D last year was, well, not very good. Neither bode well for Wilbur in 2013. USC? Who knows.

    ASU was last sec. field goal (and/or suited up Will Sutton) away from the Pac12 championship this year. ASU is also returning most of the team, including the aforementioned Will Sutton. ASU is undoubtedly the fav for Pac12 south and any of you that find that laughable are clearly very ignorant of the status of the team and the Pac. OU and Stan are still the class of the Pac, but ASU and UCLA are taking over in the south.

    Losing a bunch of players from an already horrible defense (I'm sure they're hoping for addition by subtraction) and their lone star player is a woman beating moron. And, oh ya, no QB.

    As an ASU alum who lived through during the Dirk Koetter era, I'm a bit suspicious of buying in after only a year of Todd Graham, but Will Sutton coming back was huge. If he can stay healthy next year, I like our chances. Between UCLA and USC (although SC isn't nearly the juggernaut it acts like it still is), the California schools worry me a lot more than RichRod at UofA.
