There they were in the press conference after getting swept by the Phoenix Suns, raining down praise on the team from the desert, talking about how classy they are and how happy they are for them.

Gregg Popovich, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan all saying nice things about the Suns, talking about how much respect they have for them and wishing them well.

Well in the words of Tanner from the Bad News Bears when the Yankees started to talk about how good they played-- "Hey San Antonio, You can take your praise and your four championship rings and shove ‘em straight up your ass!"

It may be the politically correct thing to do after getting your rear ends handed to you in an embarrassing sweep to say nice things about your opponent, but I for one want nothing to do with the Spurs, their fans and especially their admiration for the Suns.

Memo to Duncan, Ginobili and Popovich - save your breath. We don't want nor do we need to hear you talk nice now about the Suns. Go home, go fishing, go back to your desperate housewife, go get your nose job or just go #$$Q% yourself. We hated you before, we hate you now and we will hate you tomorrow.

To hear the Spurs talk about how "classy" the Suns are after years of Bruce Bowen's dirty fouls on Steve Nash, Robert Horry's dirty hip check, Popovich's mind games and Duncan whining after every call, just made me sick. Save your praise for someone who cares. Suns fans are celebrating this sweep today and will be tomorrow but they will never ever forget the Spurs, never speak nicely of them and certainly don't want to hear them speak nicely of the Suns.

Every great rivalry is based on hate. And the Suns and their fans hate the Spurs. Sweeping them doesn't make the hatred any less, in fact those four straight losses in the playoffs at San Antonio's hands just make this result that much sweeter. So we don't want to hear how happy you are for Nash and the Suns. I'm sure the Suns weren't happy for you all the times you beat them. Go lick your wounds, cry to your mom and enjoy watching the Suns in the Conference Finals. You still suck San Antonio.

    Best Article Ever
I usually don't agree with Gambo and his nonsensical speak. But this was probably the best article I have read about the rivalry. Rivalries are driven by hate. As a LOOONG time Suns fan, it was so satisfying to see the Spurs walk away dejected and embarassed. GO SUNS, Lakers are the next jackss dirty team to get taken down by the new and improved Suns!!!

Gambo-nonsensical? If you are going to insult the man, at least use a word he understands--- I kid, I kid. And I can bust his chops as I am from Long Island. Gambo is dead on in this. Why should we feel anything less than hatred for them? They hate us. Just watching Duncan and Ginoseli have to eat it was great. Old, young, in their prime who cares- we just swept the Spurs! And I hate them even more now!

    gumbo
notice how gumbo never talks about how the refs stuck their dirty little hands in the outcome. I guess because corrupt espn is a part of the radio station. Look gumbo the refs robbed the suns in 07 so stop ignoring the facts yea the spurs are dirty low life cheaters but dont be selective in your critisism because it makes no sense. stop being scared of the nba if you speak out against them.

    also gumbo
also gumbo the refs are the enemy along with the spurs the lakers and cavs who get all the calls. dont forget the refs are the real problem because if they make the fair calls the suns win in 07. I appreciate your hatred for the spurs though keep up the hatred cause I am right with you on that.

Should have all of their games reviewed and stupid calls should cost them points toward losing their job and fines.

You don't hate a team you own
The Suns kicked the Spurs' butt, but SA and its fans don't hate you You're kind of like the sad little brother who ran around crying to mommy every time something didn't go his way ... not someone you hate, rather someone you pity. The shoe's on the other foot now. There are plenty of quality guys on the Suns who deserve a ring, but don't expect to beat the Lakers the way you beat the Spurs. They're not a bunch of doddering injured old farts. Good luck, because trust me, SA fans would much rather see the Suns win a championship than the Fakers or the LeBronze.

    Classless Suns fans
I shouldn't be surprised that the Suns fans are a bunch of classless idiots who don't know anything about basketball. Still blaming the refs for the Suns losing the series? Ha ha what fools!! The Spurs were younger and injury free that year. 3 years later, the Suns catch the Spurs with injuries and a little long in tooth. So go ahead and celebrate while you can because the Spurs will be back. p.s. You're still our little bitches!!!

    Overrated!!
I am a lifelong Suns fan, but I gotta say that Gumbo getting all excited about sweeping a 7th seed who is in decline is almost comical. This Phoenix team has no chance against the LA Lakers, who are playing better than they have all season when it counts. There are matchup problems all over the court against the Lakers. Keep it real Gumbo, sure we won a series against a team that has dominated us. Try to show some class also, San Antonio did win 4 NBA titles, whereas the Suns have yet to win one in 41 years.

Hey, way to go Gaaambo! I could not agree more. This is what every true Suns fan should feel. This is the level of hatred and resentment that every Suns fan should harbor, and if they don't, well, then they should pack up and move to San Antonio cause they may as well be spurs fans. "But we have four rings, what do you have?" We never got swept. We always had too much pride to let that happen.

This is John Gambodoro's style, spewing hatred and criticism. The Spurs were gracious in defeat. John, why don't you put a cork in it or try something positive instead of hate? We have come to expect this type of junior high school behavior from Gambodoro. What else can we expect from a Yankee lover who insists on keeping his stupid NY accent?

    Gambo, honest and straightforward
Most of the time, a home for the Yankees who I hate. But, this time, he's got it exactly right!! Take your whining drivel and go back to Cow Town. Go pick up your shovel, scrape up your cows dung and stuff another 12 pack into your gulllet.
