Is this how you want to be remembered? I don't think so. (AP photos)
Dear Brock,

You may not remember me, but a few months back you were a guest on one of our shows here at Arizona Sports 620. I was taking pictures, and the fact that I am Arizona alum was brought up during the interview. You proceeded to apologize for beating my alma mater in the most recent Territorial Cup, though I kind of doubted your sincerity at the time.

Enough time has passed, though, and I've forgiven you. Sure, Arizona's 31-27 win last November has played a role, but really, I'm over it. I'm not angry, bitter or resentful towards you in any way, and to prove it I'm going to offer you some advice:

Don't leave ASU, not yet.

Multiple reports have surfaced about the possibility of you bolting Tempe lately, whether it be for UCLA or, maybe, the NFL.

While both offer something you undoubtedly covet (Noel Mazzone, a career), the truth is the best place for you, at this very moment, is the one you are at. Because, as it stands, you still have plenty left to accomplish at the collegiate level. Plenty you need to accomplish at the collegiate level.

Though you passed for 4,036 yards and 26 touchdowns in your first season as a starter, you also tossed 13 interceptions. You may have set school records, but your team's record was just 6-7. Are you cool with your Sun Devil career ending on a five-game losing streak? Maybe if you were going to be one of the first QBs selected in April, but there is no way a team picks you ahead of Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III,and you're not likely to go ahead of Nick Foles, either. You have potential, but much of it is unrealized. One more year of seasoning in Tempe could vault you into the first round of the draft, but right now you're probably looking at the third round - at best - which should not be enough for you to leave.

Then again, maybe it's not about feeling like you are ready for the next level. Could it be that the reason you are thinking of ending your career at ASU is because Mazzone already did. I have no doubt the guy played a huge role in getting you to where you are right now, but you know what? Him leaving is no reason for you to do the same.

Football - hell, life - will be full of change. Teammates, coaches, teams; this will not be the last time something like this happens in your career. You will have different coaches and you will learn different offenses. That's how it is, that's how it will be, and if you can't handle it maybe you should find a different profession.

Does that come off a bit harsh? That's not what I'm going for here.

Because, truth be told, I actually think you could go on to have a long, productive career in the NFL. At 6-foot-8 (did you know you were that tall?), with your wheels and cannon for an arm, by the time you're done with college there will be a line of teams hoping to land you in the draft.

But please, Brock, trust me when I say making them wait just one more season would be the best thing for you.

Thank you and Bear Down,

Adam Green

    Let Him GO
If he no longer wishes to be here because Noel Mazzone is gone, he is as good as gone. A lot of us wouldn't not want him back anyway with his woe-is-me-my-mentor-is-gone thinking. 4th round choice, out of the league in 3/4 years, back in Montana coaching basketball, seems fitting.

A Letter from a Realistic Fan
Dear Brock, go pro. You don't need another year of college ball to prove you're a scrub, the U of A game did that. No, you're ready to take a spot on someones bench in the pro's like all the other ASU quarterbacks have done. If Jake Plummer is the standard for success as an ASU QB, then start growing that scraggly thing he calls a beard now. Besides, you'll expereince life without that liar Lisa Love, who knows you might actually get on the field in the pros, you never know when that little kid that runs out to get the kicking tee might get hurt!

    Not very realistic.....
Wow got to love the University of Arizona fans chiming in on this topic! I mean it was bad enough it was written by a UofA alum! I guess I would be bitter if Teddy Bruschi was my one great alum! The point of the matter is Brock does need another year. To call the kid a scrub? I think you forgot when he beat the Cats in Tucson? I mean, I would want to forget that too. Oh and Jake Plummer was one game away from playing in a Super Bowl! Short term memory is a hell of a thing! Seems to run wild in The Wildcat community! Did you forget that your AD is a Sun Devil?

Please, stop writing articles about ASU. You are a moron that is a bend over alum. nfl scouts know what they are getting in Nick Foles, and its not much. nfl scouts drool over Oz and his potential. If you have not realized anything in any pro sports draft, teams love the unknown and picks with a high ceiling. Foles does not have that. Oh, and Dale, go to a rest home you nutty loser. At least ASU can get QB's to the nfl unlike your kitty cats.

    Thanks for reading
@ JakeDavis42, I'm not sure if you are mad at me for writing what you think is a bad take or just disappointed that you might actually agree with a Wildcat. Either way, just because I went to UA doesn't mean I can't have an opinion about ASU. @ esc R., feel free to read any mock draft around. I read a story about QBs by Kiper last night saying Foles is a late 1st, early 2nd round pick. Osweiler is never mentioned in these because nobody thought he was entering the draft. You know why? Because nobody thinks he's ready. Don't get me wrong, Brock will get drafted, just in the mid-late rounds.

Even personally being an ASU Alum...
I have to disagree with this. Would ASU be better next year for Broc staying? Maybe. But would staying help out Broc? That I'm not convinced. Between having to learn a new offensive scheme and the natural growing pains any team has upon changing coaches, Broc could easily give 100% every day next year yet actually look worse on the field and actually lower his draft stock. Will he be a 1st rnd pick now, certainly no sure thing, but his stock is up right now, and if he's gotta learn a new scheme anyway, better to learn a pro scheme as a well paid understudy on a NFL team I would think.

No Sir I respect your opinion, and I am man enough to agree with you in your article! I'll even go farther and say you most likely know more about sports than I do! See that was not a hard thing to say! I 100% agree that brock should stay here for another year. Its been a few years since Sun Devil Nation has had a leader like him. My bitterness spilled over due to the fact that "DALE" a person who knows NOTHING about football chimed in with his worthless opinion! Who was the last Wildcat to be a starter in the NFL? Other than that I like your articles! GIV'EM HELL DEVILS!

    I agree with Green...
...and I'm not related to Adam and I went to ASU. Simply put, Brock isn't ready for the pro's. He's only played 15 games in his college career, and therefore lacks the ability to read defenses correctly, and his footwork is lacking. Remember that ASU's offense was largely built on making the simple pass to Miles in the flat, or short routes over the middle to sure handed receivers like Robinson and Pflugrad. Just like Oz needs ASU, ASU needs Oz. Don't think that a redshirt freshman is successful on the road in Missouri the 3rd game of the 2012 season.

First off, I'm not a U of A alum, I just can't stand ASU and their joke of an athletic program. Alot of their fans lack objectivity and refuse to hold anyone within ASU accountable for throwing a subpar product on the field decade after decade. College football experts all say at one point or another that they're astounded that ASU can't recruit better players because Tempe is a great draw, weather is great. But you people just love Lisa Love, so get used to losing, like you aren't already.

    WHY STAY?
What will he gain by being at ASU again? Also, Noel Mazzone stopped ASU and Osweiler from being way better than could have been with his aweful scheme that included a pass to the flat ever other play. I mean the variety and design of plays they ran was not built for the team they had. They had what could have been an unreal receiver crew. But they never developed it. Brock will at least get into the NFL. Good for him. The pay and life of a a backup NFL QB is nothing to gripe at. He wont ever being a serious first string QB. And dont think another year would change that.
