Point guard Jahii Carson helped lead Arizona State to its first NCAA tournament berth since 2009, and he later signed with the Houston Rockets as an undrafted free agent.
Carson played with the Rockets’ Summer League squad in Orlando, but instead of continuing his pursuit of an NBA career, the 5-foot-10 guard signed with the Wollongong Hawks of Australia’s National Basketball League last month.
On Friday, the former Sun Devil got his first taste of Australian competition as he made his preseason debut, and the results were solid, according to House of Sparky.

The Mesa native posted a video to his Facebook account of himself throwing down a nice one-handed dunk prior to the preseason game.
Late last month, the Hawks shared a clip of the former Pac-12 co-Freshman of the Year driving and dunking in his first Australia practice.
Wollongong’s first regular season game of 2014-15 is scheduled for Oct. 10.
