...

Former Arizona guard T.J. McConnell did not hear his name called during Thursday’s NBA Draft, but that does not mean his NBA dreams have died.

McConnell played two seasons at Arizona, leading the Wildcats to the NCAA Tournament’s Elite 8 in both of them.

Last year, as a senior, he averaged 10.4 points, 6.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game while earning All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All Defensive Team honors.

Two of McConnell’s teammates were selected Thursday, with Stanley Johnson going to the Pistons eighth overall and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson going to the Portland Trail Blazers at No. 23, though he was then traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

Brandon Ashley, who left Arizona following his junior season, will reportedly join the Los Angeles Lakers’ Summer League team.
