Latino bashers, I introduce you to Carlos Arredondo

Hey, white Anglo guy.

Not all of you. Just the one who keeps sending comments to my computer about anything negative done by anyone with a Latino name.

I'm sure you must have seen them. If there's a news story about a drive-by shooting and there's a suspect named Guillermo, this guy writes a response like "What do you expect from them?" He, of course, ignores the fact that the victim's name is Ricardo.

It doesn't matter what the story is, either -- crime, a foreclosure, a traffic accident -- he calls attention that some person with a Latino name has failed.

Well, white Anglo guy, here's one of those names I'd like you to remember. In fact, I'd like you to find him on the Internet. His name is Carlos Arredondo.

He's fairly easy to find among the street interviews from Boston on Monday. He's the one covered in the blood of the casualties he tried to save. The American flag he's holding is bloody too. Carlos had to use it as a tourniquet working for the Red Cross.

I don't know whether Carlos Arredondo is an American citizen, but I do know he's a "héroe." That's Spanish for hero!

I'm Pat McMahon.

    When
Are you going to retire Pat? I mean really, you write a story directed at one person? Your article should be titled "Latino Basher..." singular, since you're obviously directing this article at one single person. The article itself is stupid and pointless because you leave out all the other hero's of the day. Yes Mr. Arredondo is a hero, but like everyone who helped out that day ("White Anglo", Latino, African American, Chinese, Japanese, etc..) They are all hero's, so singling one person out for your stupid rant is ridiculous. Ride off into the sunset Pat, it's time.

    Why would Pat
think "I don't know whether Carlos Arredondo is an American citizen"??? Isn't that profiling and racist of him? Yes whole post is ridiculous.

    and:
assuming he speaks spanish.... I gues profiling is ok - Pat fits profile of liberal leftist media person trying to earn an "I'm not a racist" badge.

    Good read but...
Sometimes its best to ignore those mentally isolated individuals who seem to enjoy the pointing and ranting of other race groups into one category. Its no surprise to find these individuals making such comments here after the long history and list of Pro Republican hosts this station has had, its no surprise a few of them have found a home here. I applaud the fact that you guys are trying to change that a bit with more progressive/libertarian hosts.

    Really?
I don't care, those watching didn't care and the injured didn't care what anyone's ethnic backround was! Your rediculous statements suggest that those of us who have issues with our border and those here illegally are "Lantino Bashers." You couldn't think of anything else to write or say? I agree you may want to consider retirement.

Odd that Pat addresses the Hispanic hating
nature of much KTAR commentaries as though they emanate from a single individual. Anyone who can read can see that the KTAR brand draws Hispanic bashers in droves. Hispanic bashing is a mainstay of many from KTAR's favored conservative demographic.

Why does Pat get a pass for wondering a hispanic is an American Citizen that speaks Spanish?

    He's old and feeble minded.
I still think of him as Gerald, who would be a much more engaging commentator for KTAR.
