Kurt Warner has been away from the football field for over a year and he may have finally found his post career calling. Working in the NFL Commissioner's office.

That's because Warner came out on Friday and told the USA Today his thoughts on the NFL's labor strife and his stance might surprise many around the league.

"I'm still optimistic that they're going to find a way to make sure there's football," Warner said. "The players have too much to lose. And as much as I hate to say it, at some point, the players have to give in. And, hopefully, they can gain some other things on their side.

"But ultimately, they have too much to lose."

The pro-owner view probably makes Warner popular at the league offices and with his bosses at the NFL Network but it's surprising when you realize that he's still good friends with many players around the league.

Any player that takes issue with Warner's quotes should probably take a long hard look in the mirror. Everything he said is the truth.

At this point the players are the ones with more to lose than the owners. They only have a limited number of years to earn as much as they can before their careers come to an end. The owners have a lifetime.

Even people that can't figure out how to split $9 billion can figure out that math. A lifetime is much longer than a limited number of years.

Warner will probably take heat for his comments around the league over the coming days. It's all unwarranted. He spoke his mind and did his job as an NFL analyst. Now it's time for DeMaurice Smith and the players to do theirs and give us our football back.

    Reality baby!
That isn't a pro-owner view. That is a fact based opinion. The players do have too much to lose. The owners are rich men. They have other interests. The players, if they lived modestly and saved and invested well, should be fine. But most don't. Though to hold out when a million dollar check is being held over your head.

    Backing the Owners?
Warner's statements sound more like he's just stating the reality of the position that the players are in.

    What A Joke
In 1985, Don Mattingly signed the biggest sports contract at $3 million a year. I was in college and taking a History of Sports class. Based on his 162 game schedule, Don was making $1,500 a half inning and $3,000 per inning. Based on that income, he was making a starting teacher's salary in one game. I've been teaching nearly 20 years, so he was making my income in 2.5 games. Today, that $3 million would be chump change for these overpaid athletes.

Warner is a sell-out and an owner kiss up
Warner is not speaking facts. Facts are the owners blatantly lied when they said they are losing money! Funny once they were told to open the books they've stopped that mantra! The owners are making BIG money! This is about the owners want to get a BETTER deal to make even MORE money! That's why the owners restructured the 2011 tv deal to get ALL THE MONEY UP FRONT! This ENTIRE lock out is owner manufactured and driven. And the owners are the ones screwing the fans. It's easy and weak for warner to make those comments NOW that he works for the NFL Network!
