Kevin Kolb didn't get to make his return to Philadelphia on the field. The former Eagles quarterback was in street clothes during Arizona's 21-17 win over the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.

But that doesn't mean Kolb didn't have an effect on the game. NFL teams often rely on former players from the teams that they're facing. Philadelphia made Kolb's input even more valuable than it normally would have been.

How?

They didn't change their signals from when Kolb was wearing the midnight green of the Eagles.

Kolb appeared on Philadelphia sports radio station WIP and told Anthony Gargano and Glen Macnow he knew what was coming from Michael Vick and Philadelphia.

"During the two-minute drill, you almost feel guilty," Kolb said. "Mike's sitting there giving the signals, and I'm standing there on our sidelines, screaming at our corners, 'Hey it's a go ball, hey he's running a screen, hey he's running a slant.'"

Kolb did downplay his knowledge's influence on the game. "How much of an effect do I really have?" he said. "I'm screaming to one guy. He may hear me, he may not. Luckily for us at that point, the crowd was pretty dead and some of our guys could maybe hear it."

    Kolb is a good teammate...
...I just wish he'd play better. I like his attitude, I like his work ethic, he's a good leader....had he played better, it could be a different story. Skelton's movement looks smooth and direct...Kolb looks hesitant, erratic, and not very comfortable. The Cards need to make sure he heels and gets a full practice week before he takes a start, and he will need to play well right off the bat to gain some fan support. Hate to hear the booo's.

Kolb is a good guy... but ?
Kevin is a really good guy and i think can be a good QB in the NFL, but how long till it happens here in Az ??? there is just something amiss with him, he is four years into the leauge and Skelton is 11/2... and it just looks like John is farther along than Kolb is.. and if Skelton keeps on winning or playing good enough to win, what do you do with Kolb ?? trade or keep on the bench ?? he will not stand for that again !!! so we would have to trade him..

    Honestly...
Kolb is a great teamate, person, etc. But hes not a great player. And yes, John is farther along than Kolb and this is only his 3rd year and Kevins 7th. I think Kolb could go a long way but the fact that hes behind and John is ahead and is playing better than him you kind of need to go with John. He's putting W's on the column and ultimately (no matter if you put up good #'s or not) winning is what matters to coaches, how you finish a game. John is a finisher. Hes a playmaker under pressure. Thats what we have seen and thats what this team needs at QB... Kolb? Hes a good back up.
