    O.K. Doug
I read your entire article. Nice piece. I believe the reason the players are under performing is a sign that they hate the ownership group and most all the executives; especially the boy wonder from Boston, Josh Burns. It doesn't matter if the owners are paying them well or fair. If I was a player under some guaranteed money, I would be hoping and praying you want to trade me to a team where the owners want to win NOW. Hiring the youngster mgr AJ Hinch and giving him a Phat 4 year deal with next to no managerial experience is proof to me "the good old boys" are using the old San Diego Padres strategy of low payroll and win it all later.I say a firesale is forth coming. Just the same, as you say, "THERE'S NO WAY" I will be paying to watch this team at Chase Field this season.

    The product on the field...
isn't worth the price of admission. There are no "stars" on this team. No big names. The batters take too many called third strikes- pitches down the heart of the plate. Little leaguers are told to protect the plate - swing at anything close with two strikes. Fine a batter at least $10,000 for taking a called third strike ( if it's an obvious bad call, then it could be up for a review)and let's see if it cuts down on the number of strikeouts. I'd rather attend a game in San Diego anyway.

    D-Backs Attendance?
Doug: You're right on; except the majority of the players are the same as last season! Remember that Chris Young, Snyder and Eric Brynes as well as Mark Reynoldsx have some fat contracts now? The ownership group (Moorad & Kendrick) willingly over-paid these guys and set expectations that were honestly totally unrealistic. I'm a dedicated D-Backs fans, but don't let Josh Brynes, Kendrick and Derrick Hall off the hook this easily.. Bad judgement giving all these guys multi year deals this early in their so called "careers." Sad

    Right On
Doug, I couldn't agree more! I hate to say I'm a bandwagon fan, but maybe I am. I just moved here in 2004 and wasn't really into baseball when I did. I grew up in Buffalo where football and hockey are a way of life, unless you like the Yankees or Red Sox, which I both hated. I love the pirates cos that's where my family is from, but...well, they are the Pirates. So when the Dbacks changed their colors and actually became good in '07, i thought finally a team I can follow in AZ. Well, last season killed it for me, now this season even more. I mean what the heck are these guys thinking? They got rid of their best closer 2 years ago, ket the legend walk, they won''t give arguably the best pitcher in baseball a new contract??? Seriously, I haven't seen any games this year because I'm too busy, but I aint missing anything!

    My
Biggest complaint is KTAR taking the time out of valuable local live talk to play these God awful boring endless D-Backs games. Isn't that what your sister station is for?? I mean this is talk radio right, not boring Baseball. The length of the games is like an eternity.
