    Wow is ASU really that backwards. We always heard back here in the East (Washington DC) that ASU was nothing more than a party school. In fact most high school graduates if they cannot get into their state universities go to ASU. I guess if you can't go to college go to ASU. The lack of respect by ASU for the presidents accomplishments and the way he was treated were abysmal (ASU grads look it up).

    Their statement (and I paraphrase) that "Obama simply has not done enough to earn a degree from ASU" certainly sounds reasonable. He's been the President for LESS THAN 4 months. What has he done thus far? Anything? If he were speaking at ASU in 2010, 2011, 2012, they might have decided something else. I respect him as our President, but I think ASU's decision should be respected, especially since they certainly knew there would be a lot of negative attention paid to it. **All that said, GREAT KABOB, Jarrett. This edition was definitely second level. Nice work.

    ONLY ASU did not award the President a honorary degree this year. All other schools (all of higher academic standing) that he participated in commencement exercises did award him a degree. Jarrett great KABOB your column certainly would qualify you for a honorary degree from any GED Program (just kidding)!
