Hey Ash. I totally agree with your points in this article. This whole situation makes me sicker with every passing day. I honestly don't care what the "sticking points" are with their negotiations. I just want to see some hoop! Wake up NBA (players and owners), fans don't care how you split up 4-5 BILLION dollars. We only want to see our team play.
The real losers here: stadium personnel and fans.
I couldn't care less if the NBA ever played another game. I love the Cards, Coyotes, and D-Backs, but for the life of me can't see the fascination with the NBA.. it's like watching paint dry.
The average salary for an NBA player is about $5 million. Working a really good paying job, making say, $100,000 a year, it would take you 50 years to earn $5 mil. 50 YEARS! That's a lifetime! I have no sympathy for anyone but the fans.
I really don't care who gets what. As a fan, why should we care how much money a player makes. We are willing to pay to see the game. End of discussion. What I care about is winning a championship, and that will never happen if the league is not more competitive. The major markets will continue to dominate as long as we let the teams with the deeper pockets to buy championships. This is the major sticking point, not what a player is paid. I just want those issues addressed once and for all.
