but one missed. Lack of leadership. Fans have a right to be unhappy with a hire. Your leadership should make the correct decision prior to the start of process. AND, the stupid AD has been focusing on extending the head basketball coach. Not saying you should not give him more time but where is the focus? What is more important. Season ticket holder for 8 years, bleed maroon and gold when I was introduced to the world. Fans are not at fault here, the so called leaders are the issue. The backlash about the Jones hiring was clear before they had discussions with Steinberg.
The issue is that the letter from Crow last week was prompted by the initial rumors of going after Jones. For them to proceed after knowing how boosters and alumni would react is very poor judgement on their part. They have now made this opening not very appealing to anyone.
I get what you're trying to say, but it wasn't the fans who put the offer on the table in the first place, nor was it the fans who retracted the offer. I fail to see how this is the fault of the fans. It's the fault of incompetent management at ASU. Why are we not going for either a HIGH profile guy like Tressel (I know it isn't likely, but no one has even mentioned it at all) or a young nobody with top-level experience on the defensive side?
I believe you are 100% correct here. It doesn't matter if it is at the top or the boosters or from the fans, nobody deserves to be treated like this. I am really embarrassed for ASU. This hurts all the way around and gives the school a huge black eye. We will be remembered how we treat our fellow beings. I hope we are even able to attract any coach after this smooth move from the ASU community.
