Maybe I am wrong, but I for the life of me can't remember the last time a coach voluntarily left ASU for a "better" job. If Graham leaves after 2-3 years, that probably means it is because he did something right here. Which means the program may be one coaches want to come too. He is the coach. Doesn't get me super excited but I for one would be thrilled if the SEC came knocking at his door in 3 years.
Great article. ASU football isn't the dream job people think it is, and we need to accept it. A big name doesn't always equal big success. Jim Tressel was a 1AA coach at Youngstown State before leading the Buckeyes. Pete Carrol was the most unpopular hire in the history of USC football. We will just have to wait and see if this works out. If Graham is successful and leaves for a bigger program, well then that is a good problem that ASU fans can only dream of having right now.
