    The deliberate, successful attempt to injure Hossa was crossing a line, but it's a line the NHL could have closed off long ago. Hockey will always be considered an idiot's game, a second-rate sideshow who's culture of thuggery goes all the way down to the kids (and parents) at the junior level. I have personally shut off the NHL for good after this. The NHL should permanently bar your goon. But there's lots more like him waiting in the wings, with the blessing of 5-watt media morons like you who say it's okay to try to kill someone - as long as you advance in the Holy Playoffs.

    As I read some of these comments - "wussification," Wimps versus real men - I realize the caliber of people that make up the blood-lusting fans of the NFL and NHL. I know people who won't go to hockey games because of the fans. Now I can see why. I guess the sport really deserves it's butt-of-the-joke, third-rate status after all.

    I HATE WHEN mainstream media guys try to associate with hockey. Paulie- I love ya man.. There is no one who I turn to other than you for football.. PLEASE stay away from hockey. There have been two instances of goonery= Torres' hit and Neal's hit Fighting, chippiness, hard hits is what the NHL used to be about.. Anyway stay away from hockey bro..

    Wait a minute? Hockey has always been a very tough sport, bordering on dirty. It is in college or juniors. Goons have always been a part of championship teams. Rick Tocchet spent the most time in the penalty box during the regular season for the Flyers, accruing 1,817 minutes in total, while Dave Schultz's 363 penalty minutes are the most by a Flyer in the playoffs.
