Toronto officials might want to check the rim at Air Canada Centre for any spring left, because Suns rookie Marquese Chriss took the hoop through a durability test Sunday.
The forward backcut Raptors big man Lucas Nogueira to throw down a one-handed slam off a lob pass from T.J. Warren. Chriss put the ball through the hoop hard enough that he found himself doing a somersault on the ground after the fact due to the force of the slam.
It was a rough shooting day for Chriss, who as of the dunk in the third quarter hadn’t hit a jumper.
Both his makes to that point were of the high-flying variety. Eric Bledsoe previously had found the rookie for a dunk in the game’s first few minutes.
