Former Sun Devil Jon Rahm honors Pat Tillman at 16th hole

Feb 4, 2017, 2:58 PM | Updated: 2:58 pm

The Waste Management Phoenix Open’s 16th hole is always a place where the biggest personalities in golf shine and the 2017 version is no different.

Former Arizona State Sun Devil Jon Rahm did his best to entertain the crowd at the 16th hole and honor former Sun Devil great Pat Tillman by wearing a No. 42 jersey with the name “Rahmbo” on the back.

Tillman wore No. 42 at ASU and is recognized nationwide as both a great football player and someone selfless enough to sacrifice millions of dollars and eventually his life for his country.

Tillman was killed in action in 2004 while serving as a US Army Ranger in Afghanistan. He was 27 years old.

He is widely regarded as a hero among both current and former Sun Devils alike and was a 2010 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame.

“Rahmbo” is obviously a nod to Sylvester Stallone’s iconic film series Rambo.

Rahm, who won Sunday’s Farmer’s Insurance Open, shot for par on the hole and is currently shooting a nine-under after three rounds.
