Everybody loves a good Whoopie Pie, right?
Well, the delectabel treat is going to be honored by the Philadelphia Phillies’ Double-A affiliate on Aug. 7, when the Reading Fightins will become the “Reading Whoopies” for their 16th annual morning game that Monday.

According to the team, the Whoopie Pie originated in Pennsylvania’s American Region, and therefore it makes sense for the team to don the sweet look.
The team has no plans to skimp on the outfit, either, with custom-made hats and uniforms that will resemble the pies.
This move follows a growing trend for minor league teams to celebrate food. The Fresno Grizzlies, who are the Triple-A team for the San Francisco Giants, have turned to tacos, while the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, who are also part of the Phillies’ farm system, have donned bacon-themed uniforms as well as cheesesteak-themed jerseys.
