The Arizona Coyotes celebrated Cardinals’ wide receiver and local sports favorite Larry Fitzgerald during their game on Saturday, commemorating his visit with a gift to fans.
The Coyotes gave the first 10,000 attendees a free bobblehead of Fitzgerald dressed in his own Coyotes sweater.

Fitzgerald visited Coyotes practice earlier in the week. The Minnesota native had never skated before, but took the ice for the first time during practice.
“When they told me that they were potentially thinking about doing a bobblehead night, I was very receptive,” Fitzgerald said. “Shane didn’t have to call me or try to tug me on it. I wanted to do it.
“I’m a big fan. I love my local teams. The Coyotes are always very active in the community, their players are always out doing great things. I wanted to come out and lend some help to try to get some people to come watch the game.”
Fitzgerald did the ceremonial first puck drop in Gila River Arena for Saturday’s game.
