LSU produces a lot of talent for the National Football League.

Particularly, there are many former Tiger defensive backs currently getting paid to play. A couple of them — cornerback Patrick Peterson and safety Tyrann Mathieu — are stars for the Arizona Cardinals.

If Todd McShay’s latest mock draft is correct, the Cardinals will be adding yet another former LSU star to their secondary.

McShay, who released his third mock Wednesday morning on ESPN.com, has the Cardinals selecting Tre’Davious White with the 13th overall selection in April’s draft.

If Alabama LB Reuben Foster falls more than expected, he would be a great pick here. But after losing three defensive backs in free agency, cornerback is another possibility. White would give Arizona a physical, instinctive press-man corner to lineup opposite of Patrick Peterson.

White stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 192 pounds and is coming off an impressive showing at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. The consensus All-American ran a 4.32 40-yard dash and put up 16 reps on the bench press.

His statistics on the field in 2016 were impressive, as well. White put up 34 tackles, two interceptions and led the Tigers with 14 pass breakups, which ranked in the top ten among FBS players.

Interestingly enough, White had not been projected as a possibility for the Cardinals in any of the more than 130 mocks featured in Arizona Sports’ Mock Draft Tracker. But Pro Football Focus’ Steve Palazzolo also has the Cardinals taking White at No. 13 in his latest mock, also released Wednesday.
